    Winter schedules 2019/2020

Dear all, It's once again time to change from summer to winter time. This also means we are updating our schedules from summer to winter routes. Available aircraft for now are as follows: Fleet: B738, B788, B789 Leased: A320, A321, B737 We would like to remind everyone once again that you can ONLY use the airframes specified in "Allowed airframes" in the schedule details. Or in VNPC, if you can select aircraft type B738, B38M and B733, you cannot use the MD8#. Or if you can only select the A321, you can only fly the A321 on that flight- simple as that (Flights with the leased aircraft types are usually B/C/D flights, meaning there are other flights on the same flight number which has the B738 if you do not wish to operate the Airbus) As always, errors are to be posted in our designated topics here: https://www.virtualnorwegian.net/forum/index.php?/forum/33-feedback/. But as always: Do not forget to check the flight(s) at norwegian.com before posting as some routes are only seasonal, some are done and won't be back etc. We would like to use the opportunity to thank all members of Virtual Norwegian for making vNorwegian what it is. Thanks! Regards, Virtual Norwegian https://www.virtualnorwegian.net

    Virtual Norwegian 10 year anniversary

On 25th October 2009, Jan Tore and Anders opened the doors for our first version of Virtual Norwegian. Today, 10 years later, we are still standing strong. We have included Even to our team, mainly as our flight logger developer, but also as a web developer. We could not have done this if it wasn't for all of you virtual pilots who has helped us by flying, being a community, submitting new ideas and a lot more. Thanks to you! Throughout these 10 years, we have used phpVMS and a couple of scratch built systems made by ourselves, including our very own flight logger: VNPC. We had our hopes up to release our next (and final release) system on our 10 years anniversary, but unfortunately we didn't get time to complete it by then. Our new system will be less dependent on us, and instead getting briefings from SimBrief (we will of course still be free to use - just like SimBrief!), but to have updated routes you must unlock AIRACs in SimBrief yourself. Our PPS CrewBriefing will also disappear, but instead you will see a brand new Lufthansa Lido CrewBriefing - just like Norwegian went to! (A preview of our new system can be found at vnas.net. If you can find yourself in the roster there, you can log in and test it out already now) Throughout these 10 years, you have submitted more than 255,000 flights, making an average of ~25,000 flights a year, or ~70 flights every day for 10 years. Again, thanks to everybody who has made Virtual Norwegian what it is Best wishes, Virtual Norwegian Staff https://www.virtualnorwegian.net

    Summer schedules / system update

Important info regarding our schedules and system. Schedules finally updated to the summer schedules. In order to minimize the number of flights in our schedules, we've merged flights with same flight number, airframe, departure time and frequency (from 10-15000 flights to ~5000). As you have noticed, NLH is gone. Changed to NAX as they should (we didn't know that back when we prepared our system for the 787). Our "NLH requirement" still remains, but is applicable to all heavy category aircraft (B788, B789, A333 etc) This also mean alphanumeric callsigns for these flights probably won't show. They will be looked into soon. Same with our rules and regulations regarding NLH requirements. We have also updated the logic in "allowed airframes" and that list should be the same in our website as well as VNPC and VNPCv2 beta. So no longer any doubt which airframes we allow on a certain flight (our crewbriefing is NOT updated at this time) From around April 18th (tbd) the schedules will be updated over again and you will see another airline in our system with ~160 flights as Norwegian will be operating some flights for TUI

    Happy New Year!

Hello everybody! We in Virtual Norwegian would like to wish you all a happy new year! Thank you all for yet another great year. Throughout 2018, you all made a total of 32884 flights (second best year, 2803 flights less than our record). Unfortunately due to our personal lives, the update we brought up one year ago with all the updates we've planned/working on, takes a lot of time. We do not know when we will be able to wrap that up, but we really hope it won't be too long. Thanks for your understanding Again, we would like to thank you all for contributing to our VA, whether it's "only" by flying, or helping us out with callsigns, routes etc, helping other members with their issues and so on. That's what make us as good as we can be - you guys Best regards, Virtual Norwegian

    220,000 flights

Congratulations and well done everybody! Since October 25th 2009 we have just reached 220,000 completed flights. This gives us an average of approx 69 flights every single day for almost 9 years, or roughly 25000 flights yearly - wow! Congratulations to @NAX10511 - Lars Brieghel for submitting flight number 220,000

    Summer program 2018

Dear all, Once again we have successfully moved over to the summer program after experiencing some issues updating them correctly. Should you find any errors, please refer to our two pinned topics here. The A330-200 is available on a few flights throughout April for our long haul pilots (scheduled wet lease). For an overview over all current and upcoming flights, please see our timetable.

    Happy New Year!

Hello everybody, We in Virtual Norwegian would like to wish all virtual pilots a happy new year! Thanks for yet another great year. In 2017, you made a total of 32365 flights (less than the last couple of years). Unfortunately we don't have any numbers on hours as of now, but I can guarantee they are higher than any previous year anyway because of the long haul operations and the QWSim 787 release As you may know, we are still working our asses off trying to complete our new systems, which unfortunately due to work and family, takes quite a lot of time. We haven't posted much progress on it yet because there isn't too much to show off (most of the cool wacky updates are in the background anyways)..but we'll include a short list of what awesome features we'll include anyways - just because we think it's gonna be really awesome Wind data. This is probably the biggest and coolest update we can ever(?) give you. Our very own developer of VNPC, Even, is an extremely talented guy and he figured out for us how we could download proper wind data and implement it to our systems. TL;DR: whenever the new system's launched, we can provide wind charts and navigation logs/operational flight plans that does take wind and temperatures into account (preview wind chart). CrewBriefing. We will update and optimize our CB. Other than that, it will remain more or less the same as now, except it will possible to group flights. In other words, you can open up to 10 (tentative, tbd) flights at the same time and print them out all together instead of opening each flight on their own (Preview: image1, image2, image3). We haven't decided on this one just yet, but we MAY create a simple version of LiDo (the crewbriefing system Norwegian is currently using for their long haul operations) Aircraft data. We have figured out a way of retrieving aircraft data for our flights. This means our system will assign the default aircraft for a flight to be the same as in real life. Unfortunately this is an external source, so it could stop working at any given time - even before we release the system. Unfortunately this data will only be available for normal ops NAX/IBK 737-800 and 737-8MAX flights (except: G-NRWY). Should we post any updates on our progress, they will be found in this thread: Again, thanks for a great year, and we would like to wish you all a happy new year! We hope to see you around in 2018 as well!

    Winter program 2017/2018

Hello folks! Once again, it's time to move onto winter time and that means: our seasonal program has been updated! After all, it's been a great summer for Virtual Norwegian with a lot of different aircraft types flying for us, such as the 320, 757, 777 among many others. The 787 has also been available on a lot of European routes. Unfortunately it seems the (scheduled) wet leases will not be seen that much throughout the winter, but keep your eyes open - I'm sure you'll see them every now and then anyways As always, you can find current and upcoming (planned) flights in our timetable: https://www.virtualnorwegian.net/timetable/ I would like to take the opportunity to remind you all that if you have any suggestions for us, feel free to post them either in our forums, or directly to me. As you may, or may not, know, Even and I are working really hard to complete our upgrade on our systems that will hopefully fix lots of issues we currently have. The sooner we get ideas or suggestions, the bigger the chances are for having them implemented Please note: The first week, some flights may be missing because of the overlapping dates, so if any flights are missing between 29/10-17 and 05/11-17, there is (most likely) no need to report them as they will/should appear after 05 Oct. Regards, Virtual Norwegian Staff

    Mac/Linux support

Dear virtual pilots, Virtual Norwegian has after a long time finally the opportunity to support Mac and Linux users with XAcars again. We have since the launch of our own system only supported our own in-house pilot client, as we could not find a way to implement XAcars together with our system. However, a solution for this was recently found, which means that we can finally add support for Mac and Linux users again. Virtual Norwegian

    Winter program released

Hello everyone, We have just published the winter program for 2015! Norwegian's Irish subsidiary, Norwegian Air International (NAI), will officially use its new IATA and ICAO codes, D8 and IBK. This will affect most routes in/out of London, Las Palmas, Tenerife, Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga and Helsinki. What exactly will these changes mean as a pilot in VNAS? That you will have to use the new ICAO code for the affected routes in our schedules, pilot client, and when flying online. Spoken callsign for IBK is NORTRANS. Also, this year's winter program will include some new quite exciting routes, take a look: NLH Oslo - San Juan eff 01NOV15 Copenhagen - San Juan eff 06NOV15 Copenhagen - St. Croix eff 09NOV15 Copenhagen - Las Vegas eff 10NOV15 Stockholm - San Juan eff 03NOV15 Stockholm - Las Vegas eff 31OCT15 London - San Juan eff 04NOV15 NAX New York - Martinique eff 03DEC2015 New York - Guadeloupe eff 04DEC2015 Boston - Martinique eff 06DEC2015 Boston - Guadeloupe eff 03DEC2015 Baltimore/Washington - Martinique eff 04DEC2015 Baltimore/Washington - Guadeloupe eff 05DEC2015 IBK Domestic routes in Spain eff OCT/NOV2015 For an overview over current (and upcoming) flights, check out our timetable: http://www.virtualno....net/timetable/ (only available for members) Note: Due to the overlay between the summer and winter program, there could be some missing flights the first few days after the update. There will also be a few missing ATS-routes, but we will try to add them as soon as possible

    New PIREP record!

New record! Yesterday you managed to beat our record once again. This time you made a total of 150 flights in one day. Well done everyone!
